If we want to revive our democracy, we need to vote for a minor party that not only stands for the preservation of our democratic values but can also win seats in parliament. Without those seats, there will be no change—democracy will continue on its slippery downward slope.
At present, NZ First is the only feasible party. Why is that?
The analysis of the Voters United Polls 1, 3, & 4 show no party is even close to winning seats. Most of the other minor parties need to unite to get across the line.
NZ First is polling quite strongly in these polls—at 26% and 23% in Polls 3 and 4 respectively. However, NZ First attracts not only the voters who are aware of and are concerned about the erosion of our democracy, but also those from the wider public who are dissatisfied with the performance of the parties currently in power.
According to a recent RCR Northland Poll, conducted by Curia Market Research (David Farrar), Matt King (Democracy NZ) at 2% is unlikely to win the Northland Seat. He is too far behind the National and Labour candidates at 38% and 18% respectively.
In the same poll, Shane Jones (NZ First) reached 6% for the candidate vote. NZ First won 5% of the party vote and 6% if the undecided were excluded. At 5% NZ First would win party seats.
In the July 2023 Roy Morgan Poll, NZ First polled at 5% which equates to six seats. NZ First's support is growing, as in June 2023 NZ First got 3% in this poll.
Casey Costello from Hobson's Pledge has become NZ First's candidate for Port Waikato. Hobson's Pledge has an emailing list of over 160,000. Therefore, she has the potential to attract many voters. These RCR interviews here and here are worth listening to.
Kirsten Murfitt has also joined NZ First. She will also attract many voters because of her active service in pushing back against the official Covid narrative and standing up for what is right. Listen to her recent RCR interview here.
NZ First has name recognition. People vote for parties/names they recognize. There is not enough time left for other minor parties to gain such wide general-public name recognition.
Winston Peters, the leader of NZ First, is an experienced politician. He has the experience to generate public confidence. He is a skilled negotiator. He knows the system—the political minefield.
Legacy media won't be able to ignore NZ First or Winston Peters. Also, NZ First is included in all polls, unlike most of the other smaller parties.
At present, NZ First has 28 candidates. The list continues to grow.
Gary Moller produced a powerful video on why we need to make our votes count and why NZ First fills the bill.
His video and some thoughts arising from it.
If leaders and candidates from other minor parties join NZ First and learn from Winston's extensive years of experience in politics think how experienced and ready they’d be for the 2026 elections.
In 2026, voters will be a lot more confident in voting for leaders/candidates if they've previously served as MPs and proven themselves capable.
And as Gary explained, if many of us join NZ First, we all become the party. The party becomes us.

Winston has stressed he will not go with Labour again; last time, they kept him in the dark and lied to him.
Under Labour, there are still doctors nurses and healthcare workers mandated out of their jobs. People are suffering because of a shortage of these people. NZ First is against these mandates. Sign their petition here.
No one should be forced to take a “vaccine” or any other medical treatment. Winston Peters spoke out against mandates.
Winston Peters visited the Wellington Protest. He did not ignore the protestors or call them derogatory names.
Winston supports an honest inquiry into the Covid years. “...people should have been told the truth...and not been the victims of bullying...” And see here for more detail.
Winston did not support the Therapeutic Products Bill—a major threat to the Natural Health Industry and to our health.
NZ First is against the rise of racist policies. NZ First is against the racist healthcare Labour has introduced. Doctors are outraged. One doctor told the New Zealand Herald the move is “medically indefensible” while another said they were “disgusted”. NZ First also opposes co-governance and the three waters takeover or whatever they call it these days.
Winston does not support the World Health Organisation’s proposed amendments to the International Health Regulations. See here, here and here.
NZ First does not support the sexualisation of children. See here.
The Labour government made abortions up to 9 months legal—a living, breathing baby at the point of birth can be legally killed. Babies can feel pain. Winston Peters voted against abortion up to 9 months.
NZ First is against media bias and manipulation. Sign their petition for a Royal Commission of Inquiry.
Labour has announced plans to censor what content can be published online. Read, 'Stop the online speech regulator' at Hobson's Pledge' here. NZ First is against this kind of madness that will destroy our democracy.
NZ First: We support the right of free speech - and that means we support the right of New Zealanders to say ‘I disagree’ and not be mandated out of existence, not being mandated in to being a second class citizen, and losing their jobs, careers, or their right to make a living.
We support the right of New Zealanders to disagree with government policy and not be punished for it.

Thoughts & Conclusion
Do enough minor party voters know about Voters United? Can we depend on enough minor party voters voting for the same party? Can we depend on some minor parties withdrawing from the election? Can we depend on more parties uniting?
If the answer is NO to the above questions, our safest option is to start supporting NZ First. At present, all other options come with greater risks. Can we afford not to have a voice in parliament? Should we gamble with our freedom?
