The dark side of patents in healthcare

A countries Health Department should be evaluated on its performance. If the health of the nation is declining should they not be investigating all potential causes?

And if they neglect to do so, should they not be replaced with more competent people.

In the U.S. senior health advisors were replaced with people who want to help make America Healthy again. For instance, HHS [U.S. Department of Health & Human Services] Senior Adviser Dr. Steven Hatfill revealed that HHS stopped mRNA funding because the data showed getting vaccinated was MORE dangerous than COVID itself. This was clearly illustrated when a meta-analysis was conducted.

Dr Hatfield stated the shots send a sudden flood of mRNA into the body, which overwhelms the cells and creates “biological havoc.” See here and here. For a list of harms associated with Covid 19 mRNA shots, see Florida’s Department of Health here.

Also there are now eight studies that confirm mRNA shots increase infection rate. Nicolas Hulscher, MPH, reported in Focal Points:

A major Swiss study of 1,745 healthcare workers, published in Nature’s Communications Medicine, found that recent COVID-19 booster shots were linked to a significantly higher risk of illness and missed work compared to the unvaccinated.

Why is NZ still recommending these vaccines, even to babies and children?

Our hospitals are overwhelmed. In NZ, people should be thriving—we have a beautiful country blessed with a great climate and great food-producing soils and people with the skills and knowledge to help make NZ healthy again.

Our big corporate-aligned health system, heavily reliant on drugs and vaccines (of which the patented products play a major role), is obviously failing. Effective, life saving off-patent pharmaceuticals and nutrients like vitamin d were rigorously maligned during the Covid 19 ‘pandemic’ and so were the doctors who used these products successfully and saved lives.

If it were not for patents, would the Covid 19 mRNA injection been promoted so ruthlessly, a shot that did not stop you getting Covid and did not stop transmission?

If it were not for patents, would the best option for treating Covid 19 been used? Off-patent, but effective, repurposed drugs and supplements, such as Vitamin d were maligned by those pulling the strings, by those who had serious conflicts of interest.

Millions of lives could have been saved. And many more millions of people would not have suffered Covid 19 vaccine injuries if the best options to treat Covid 19 had not been maligned or withheld. Patents create a perverse incentive to rubbish off-patent drugs and malign or even prevent doctors from using them to help their patients.

Stephen Kinsella (patent attorney) said in his article Patents, Pharma, Government: The Unholy Alliance,

If all prescription drugs were sold at their free market price it would not only reduce the income for the owners of the patents, but it would also eliminate a massive industry that has grown up as a result of the high price of patented drugs.

Also gene-based treatments can result in their costing millions because of patented tools and techniques.

CRISPR techniques are subject to patents. They can be licensed for use by academic laboratories, but if you want to commercialise a product produced using CRISPR it comes at a cost, a huge cost. For example, in 2023, Vertex Pharmaceuticals in Boston, Massachusetts, secured approval to sell its CRISPR-based treatment for sickle-cell disease only after paying $50 million in up front fees to a licence-holder authorised by the Broad Institute, a genomic-research centre in Cambridge, Massachusetts, that holds the patents.

Hedley Rees, has firsthand experience of the pharma industry often referred to as Big Pharma. However in his article, How Bill Gates hijacked a failing pharma system and smashed it: A tale of incompetence, deceit, greed, and an unmitigated thirst for power published in the UK Column, Hedley Rees claims there is no such thing as BIG PHARMA. Hedley explains why.

Prior to the early 1980s, there was no such thing as Big Pharma. Pharmaceutical companies were all big in those days, because that’s what it took to develop a safe, effective, fit-for-purpose medicinal product.

However:

In the early 1980s, pharmaceutical companies...began casting off their physical assets, including:

• Manufacturing facilities, making the people working in them redundant

• Distribution warehouses, making the people working in them redundant

• Quality control laboratories, making the people working in them redundant

• Clinical trials units, making the people working in them redundant

• Products that patients were dependent on (out-of-patent products that weren't making them cash any more)

So:

Today, what are referred to as Big Pharma companies merely patent molecular compounds, hand them over to third-party contractors, and market the life out of the paltry few that are approved for sale. Those same Big Pharma companies have also outsourced drug development.

Unfortunately:

...patent protection allows pharmaceutical companies to charge eye-watering prices, enabled by massive sales and marketing budgets...

A ‘broken system’

When a drug patent expires (typically 20 years after its development) and the drug becomes generic, it is much less profitable for manufacturers.

That’s why drug companies often simply stop making generics, even if demand is high.

And there are many many more examples of the evils associated with patents—a government created system.

For instance, from The Untold Purdue Pharma Story..., Purdue Pharma, who was making an extremely addictive opioid drug, filed patents on non-addictive formulas to block anyone from making them. This sinister move led to “hundreds of thousands of deaths across this country.” Watch Dr David Martin talk about this on the Jimmy Dore show. See link directly above.

This is an example of how patents do not inspire innovation but prevent innovation from serving humanity. This is an example of how patents can indirectly cause a great deal of harm.

Dr David Martin, in his presentation at the Covid Summit talk in the European Union Parliament in 2023, opened with:

It is a particularly interesting location for me to be sitting today, given that over a decade ago I sat in this very chair right here in the European Union Parliament.

And at that time, I warned the world of what was coming...we were having a conversation on whether Europe should adopt the United States policy of allowing for the patents on biologically derived materials. And at the time, I urged this body and I urged people around the world that the weaponisation of nature against humanity had dire consequences.

Tragically, I sit here today, with that unfortunate line that I don’t like to say, which is “I told you so.”

He pointed out the following facts.

In 1990, Pfizer filed the first spike protein vaccine. In 2002, a weaponised coronavirus was patented. In 2003, SARS-CoV-1 was released into the world.

And four times in April of 2019 – seven months before the allegation of patient number one – four patent applications of Moderna were modified to include the term “accidental or intentional release of a respiratory pathogen” as the justification for making a vaccine for a thing that did not exist.

“We engineered SARS. SARS is not a naturally occurring phenomenon. The naturally occurring phenomenon is called the common cold,” Dr. David E. Martin said. What we have seen over the decades is that “nature was hijacked … Science was highjacked … Morality was hijacked … Humanity was highjacked.”

In February 2024, U.S.A. Senator Ron Johnson led a roundtable discussion titled: “Federal Health Agencies and the COVID Cartel: What Are They Hiding?” His opening words reinforced Dr Martin's chilling words.

To me, the COVID pandemic has opened my eyes to the failure and corruption of the global elite and their institutions, including government.

Unfortunately, many eyes remain closed, and the global elite will use all of their power to keep them closed. They maintain power by controlling information. They relentlessly push their narrative while at the same time suppressing and marginalizing dissident voices.

In this case, they overhyped fear over a virus they helped create in order to push a profitable gene therapy platform and gain greater control over our lives.

Along the way, they sabotaged early treatment, denied natural immunity and vaccine injuries, caused trillions of dollars of economic devastation, and destroyed an untold number of people’s lives. Unfortunately, they remain in control.

Today I’ve assembled some of the dissident voices. Many have paid a heavy price for exercising their right to free speech, to offer a different perspective, a perspective that was not allowed.”

Here's another example of patent associated evil. Listen to or read the transcript The BigPharma War: Patents vs. Patients. Australian senator Malcolm Roberts reveal crime after crime associated with the mRNA Covid 19 vaccines. Malcolm refers to an Australian developed conventional, attenuated virus vaccine that he believes would have been safe to use. But that was discontinued on spurious grounds to open the door to gene technology mRNA vaccines. This was not about patient health; it was about patents. According to Malcolm, four hundred mRNA drugs are currently in development.

Is the increasing presence of gene technology in our lives one of the reason why so many New Zealanders are becoming ill and are overwhelming our hospitals to the point of breaking? Not only is the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine a gene technology, but gene technology is also in much of the food we eat.

Patents & Fake Food Ingredients

If it were not for patents, there would not be so many fake and potentially harmful gm ingredients in our food.

One would be naive to think ultra-processed, gm foods have anything to do with health and sustainability even if they say it does. It is NOT about health, but has everything to do with patents and control of our food supply.

Obviously, it is best to avoid processed foods if you want to preserve your health and the health of your loved ones. Dr Guy Hatchard has listed a frightening number of gm additives in foods in his article: Major Health Alert: the Extraordinary Genetically Modified Invasion of Our Supermarkets by Stealth. Here is a screen shot of just some on the list. Our processed foods are no longer based on natural ingredients.

From the article The Convention on Biological Diversity must resist the commodification of all life:

... these new biotechnologies are also being used for the creation of dangerous ultra processed artificial foods, using gene edited microorganisms for the ‘fermentation’ of chemical compounds. Impossible Burger, for example, uses a “heme” molecule from soy leghemoglobin, a colorant produced in genetically engineered yeast to make their burgers appear to ‘bleed’. According to the Center for Food Safety, the FDA didn’t conduct adequate long-term testing before approving the color additive in 2019, and after a short-term rat trial several potential adverse effects were detected.

I will repeat, if it were NOT for patents in bad hands there would not be the insane drive to create fake gm foods. These foods will make us sicker and sicker. Pfizer produces the gm coagulant in most cheeses. When someone bothers to investigate, will they find it also coagulates our blood?

Pfizer and other pharmaceutical companies profit from our sickness often caused by highly processed foods and the side effects from medications and injections. The sicker we get, the more they make. They will then sell us pharmaceuticals to reduce symptoms and then more to reduce the side effects from those.

GM foods do not represent innovation. They represent horror. They represent sickness.

As an aside, we do not need patents for innovation. Matt Ridley in The Rational Optimist said:

“there is little evidence that patents are really what drive inventors to invent. Most innovations are never patented. In the second half of the nineteenth century neither Holland nor Switzerland had a patent system, yet both countries flourished and attracted inventors. And the list of significant twentieth century inventions that were never patented is a long one. It includes automatic transmission, Bakelite, ballpoint pens, cellophane, cyclotrons, gyrocompasses, jet engines, magnetic recording, power steering, safety razors and zippers.

We all benefit when communities share knowledge and inventions, like we all do with recipes. This and NOT patents create what is best for humanity. In a basically patent-free world, we can build on each others inventions and innovations and create a better world.

Patents provide perverse incentives.

Conclusion

Patents in the wrong hands, in evil hands, is equivalent to arming criminals with the means to steel and harm with little or no liability. The unethical use patents to block competitors, to corner the market, to block innovation, to block what is good and right.

Patents, under the present system, in the wrong hands can lead to monstrous harms.

Gene technology will create a plethora of perverse incentives. Our tax money will be used for experimentation we do not need or want to be part of. Experimentation that will more than likely result in harms and failures and cover-ups.

Like guinea pigs, we will be subjected, unwittingly and unknowingly to many more potentially harmful products.
