If you go back in time, they are NOT accurate at all.
To find out how frequent and inaccurate these predictions are, listen to this short, entertaining, but troubling video on failed climate predictions. Troubling because of associated harms, which include perverse impacts on mental health.
Below are some of the failed predictions mentioned in the video and/or in these related articles:

3. The article in the New York Post 50 years of predictions that the climate apocalypse is nigh lists specific United Nations' predictions, some of which are also included below. The U.N. appear to be a driving force behind flawed predictions.
4. Tony Heller, a whistleblower and environmentalist with degrees in Geology and Electrical Engineering, has a great blog that includes many predictions some of which are included in this post. See here.
Global Cooling
1. 1970
In April 1970, the Boston Globe reported, Scientist predicts a new ice age by 21st century...
Thank goodness that didn't happen. Here’s another reference.

2. 1971
In July 1971, the Washington Post reported a leading U.S. atmospheric scientist said the world could be as little as 50 or 60 years away from a disastrous new ice age.
Well it's been almost 53 years since that prediction. NOW, we're being told to fear Global Boiling! Be afraid, be very afraid!
3. 1978
In January 1978, the New York Times reported:
International Team of Specialists Finds No End in Sight to 30‐Year Cooling Trend in Northern Hemisphere.
Here's a huge selection of the 1970s' Global Cooling Scares and there's more here.
Global Warming; Well, NOT quite Global.
4. 1979
In February 1979, about a year later, the same paper, the New York Times reported on the North Pole Melting. It reported:
There is a real possibility that some people now in their infancy will live in a time when the ice at the North Pole will have melted, a change that would cause swift and perhaps catastrophic changes in climate.
However, computer simulation of the effects of an ice-free Arctic indicated mid-latitudes would be cooled by as much as 16% Fahrenheit.
Global Warming
5. 1988
A report from an International News Agency (Agence France-Presse, AFP) said that according to authorities, the island nation of the Maldives was at risk of becoming completely covered by a gradual rise in average sea level in 30 years.
Over 35 years later, the Maldives are still nowhere near underwater. No relocation of people and homes has been necessary. In fact, instead of retreating, they are building new luxurious beachfront villas all around the Maldives at a cost of $148 million.
So what do you make of that? With an investment like that, surely there is not any significant risk of submersion? Authorities there must be listening to ethical scientists, like those at https://clintel.org/.
6. 1989
In June 1989, the San Jose Mercury News (California) reported this:
A senior environmental official at the United Nations, Noel Brown, says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the earth by rising sea levels if global warming is not reversed by the year 2000.
Thank goodness, NO entire nation has been wiped out by 'global warming'.

7. 1990
In 1990, the then-head of the UN Environment Programme stated:
We must fix climate change before 1995.
We are still all here and life is booming, so we must have fixed it! Carbon dioxide must be the gas of life as supported by so many scientists and commonsense.

8. 2007
In November 2007, the New York Times cited the then-head of the U.N. climate panel as saying this year was the defining moment of the climate change fight. If there is no action before 2012, it will be too late.
The then U.N. climate-panel head was wrong about that. Is that because the U.N do not use the best and brightest scientists, but those that are willing to follow the U.N. agenda/script and the money?
9. 2008
In June 2008, the world’s leading climate scientist predicted the Arctic would be ice-free by 2018.
Read the entire article here: Nasa scientist: 'We're Toast'.
That certainly hasn’t happened, but the reverse has.
From Spectacularly Poor Climate Science At NASA:
Arctic ice extent is now within a couple percent of normal, and Alaska has the most extensive sea ice ever recorded.
10. 2009
In December 2009, USA Today cited the former vice-president Al Gore who said the Arctic Ocean may be nearly ice-free in the summer as early as 2014.
11. 2017
In June 2017, the Daily Mail reported:
Four years to save the Earth: 2020 is the deadline to avert climate catastrophe, experts claim in chilling commentary.

Read the full article here: 2020 is the deadline to avert climate catastrophe
12. 2018
In January 2018, a Forbes article cited a Harvard University professor of atmospheric chemistry who said, the chance that there will be any permanent ice left in the Arctic after 2022 is essentially zero.
At the moment, there's plenty of Arctic ice, about 5.6 million square miles of it.
13. 2021
From 50 years of predictions that the climate apocalypse is nigh:
If developed nations don’t phase out oil and gas and give $100 billion in “climate financing,” Paul Behrens, professor in environmental change, told Politico that “the only fact about the future I can declare with certainty is that the world as we know it is coming to an end.
Really!
I think there are a lot more reliable and worthwhile ways to spend $100 Billion than to line the pockets of those who benefit from the fearmongering climate change narrative. Don't you?
As they say: Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me”.
Perhaps our politicians and bureaucrats WHO BELIEVE THE CLIMATE-CHANGE FEARMONGERING should think about that.
Clintel (Climate intelligence)
From There is No Climate Emergency, a Message to the People by Guus Berkhout, president of Clintel:
In the past decades the public has been flooded with fear-mongering stories, telling them that global temperatures will rise to catastrophically high levels.
Climate activists claim that the cause of all this impending doom is the increasing amount of CO2 produced by human activities. The proposed solution is the so-called net-zero emission policy, aimed at lowering human net CO2-emissions to the levels of the pre-industrial era of the late 1700s.
Those activists also claim that people should panic, and that time is running out: “Be aware that it is five minutes to midnight, we must act without delay!” Many thousands of scientists disagree…
Not many citizens are aware that all the frightening climate predictions have been generated by computer models. And we know from experience in many other complex areas, how misleading computer models can be.
For example, think of the many wrong predictions by economic models or think of the large mistakes in recent pandemic modeling. The output of computer models depends fully on the assumptions that modelmakers put into them. In the past 50 years, the predictions of climate models about global warming and their dire effects have all been wrong. In the engineering community, they would be qualified as useless…
Satellite data shows NO extreme warming, and this is cross-checked by millions of weather balloon measurements.
